Basant Panchami 2025: According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Vasant Panchami is celebrated every year on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Magh month. On this day, special events are organized to worship Goddess Saraswati in homes, temples and educational institutions. It is believed that Basant Panchami is celebrated to mark the birthday of Mother Saraswati and the arrival of Rati and Kamadeva on earth.

Basant Panchami 2025 Dates:
According to the Panchang (Astrology experts), the festival of Basant Panchami will be celebrated on 2 February in 2025. It is happening on 02 February at 09:14 am, which will end the next day i.e. on 3 February at 9:36 am. According to Udaya Tithi, the festival of Basant Panchami will be celebrated on 3rd February.
Basant Panchami 2025 Shubh Muhurat:
The Muhurat of Saraswati Puja on Basant Panchami will start from 7.08 am in the morning, and will continue till 12.34 pm. During this time, devotees pray to Goddess Saraswati and wish to attain knowledge and wisdom.
Puja Vidhi (Pooja Process) - Basant Panchami 2025:
1. Preparation:
Bath: Wake up early in the morning and take a bath.
Clothes: Wear yellow, spring or white clothes, which are considered auspicious for this day.
2. Preparation of worship place:
Chowki: Spread yellow cloth on a stool
Statue or picture: Place the statue or picture of Mother Saraswati on the pedestal. Along with this, also keep the idol of Lord Ganesha.
3. Kalash Establishment:
First of all, fill an urn with water, add five mango leaves and place coconut on top. Place it at the place of worship.
4. Puja material:
Offering: Offer yellow and white flowers, gram flour laddus, bananas, sweets etc. to Goddess Saraswati.
Dhoop-Deep: Light incense and lamps so that the atmosphere becomes pure.
5. Method of worship:
Ganesh Puja: First of all worship Lord Ganesha. After this, while meditating on Mother Saraswati, offer flowers to her with devotion.
- Mantra chanting: While applying sandalwood, chant the mantra:
“ Chandanasya mahatpunyam pavitraam papanashanam,
Disasters are defeated daily Lakshmi Tishthatu Sarvada.” - Then chant the Beej Mantra “Om Ain Saraswatyai Namah” for Mother Saraswati. Chanting it 108 times is considered auspicious.
6. Aarti and Prasad:
At the end of the puja, perform aarti of Maa Saraswati and distribute prasad to all the devotees.
7. Special Attention:
It is also very auspicious to start Vidya (learning the first alphabet of children) on this day.

Yellow Sweet Rice: Yellow sweet rice also known as Kesar Bhaat. Offering this offering brings positive energy and happiness and prosperity in life. Yellow rice is prepared by mixing ghee, sugar, saffron and panchmeva and it is offered to Goddess Saraswati and fed to at least 5 girls.
Kesar Halwa: Mother Saraswati likes this offering very much. By offering it the person becomes free from all kinds of troubles.
Rajbhog: Offering yellow colored Rajbhog brings success in the field of education and art, as well as increases good fortune.
Malpua: If there are obstacles in the career of your children, then to remove them, you should offer Malpua to Mother Saraswati from her hand and distribute it among the needy people.
